Undescended Testis
Undescended testis, also known as cryptorchidism, is a condition where one or both testicles fail to descend into the scrotum during fetal development. Normally, the testes develop within the abdomen and gradually descend into the scrotum before birth or shortly thereafter. The healthcare provider will carefully examine the scrotum and groin area to determine the location of the testicles. In some cases, imaging tests such as ultrasound may be performed to visualize the position of the testicles within the abdomen or inguinal canal.
